The Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority (LASPPPA) has again warned Property Owners, Developers and residents across the State to desist from attacking, assaulting and harassing its officials carrying out their legitimate duties of sealing structures without required permits or that did not comply with the Planning Permits granted them as stipulated by the Physical Planning Permit Laws of the State.
The General Manager of LASPPPA, Tpl. Kehinde Osinaike said the recent attacks on some of its officials during an enforcement exercise were unwarranted and unlawful, and constitute a setback for an orderly and safe environment that the State envisions to realise through the implementation of Planning Permit Laws.
While asserting that any future attack on the officials would henceforth be met with an appropriate official response, including prosecution, Osinaike urged members of the public to always cooperate with LASPPPA officials during enforcement and compliance exercises.
He advised Property Owners and Developers to always visit the District Offices that serve notices to them to resolve any aspect in which they are contravening Planning Permit Laws before any follow-up enforcement exercises by the Monitoring and Compliance Unit of the Authority.
